Job summary

Duke Energy's Robinson Nuclear Station CDE team seeks a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design changes across nuclear systems, including AC/DC power, motors, transformers and switchgear. You will drive technical rigor, coordinate schedules, and mentor engineers.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of engineering experience, nuclear familiarity, and PE licensure.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Nuclear experience: 1 year at minimum; PE license or equivalent.
• Masters may substitute for B.S. degree.
• Professional engineer registration or equivalent nuclear certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, basis, installation and testing requirements for design changes (AC/DC power systems, motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, relays, etc.).
• Provide engineering guidance for problem analysis and resolution.
• Plan and monitor work activities with changing priorities and schedules.
• Prepare thorough technical reports, calculations and sketches for well-defined problems.
• Lead and manage projects with minimal oversight; mentor junior engineers.
