Job summary

Duke Energy’s Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) department at the Oconee Nuclear Station in Seneca, SC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer I or II to support design changes for AC/DC power systems and related equipment.

The role includes developing scope and technical basis, performing calculations, revising drawings, and providing field installation support, with a willingness to travel and maintain safety requirements in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A Master’s degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience (Electrical Design Engineer II).
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.

Responsibilities

Develop the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes.
Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determine, and present recommendations.
Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews and field installation support.
Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents.
Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes.
Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
