Job summary

G&W Electric seeks an experienced NPD Project Engineer to drive design tasks, schedule projects, and manage resources. You will coordinate withPurchasing and Vendors, support Sales/Manufacturing, and ensure designs meet specifications with error-proof assembly.

The role involves leading teams, developing test plans, and conducting root-cause analysis on new and existing products. Strong CAD and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of progressive engineering design experience.
• Experience with 3D parametric modeling, FEA, and GD&T in mechanical design.
• Familiarity with casting, machining, molding, stamping and forming processes.
• Knowledge of Stage Gate processes and ability to write technical documents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to read standards; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with DFMEA and DOE; ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of the design process, complete tasks, and help ensure on-time project completion.
• Develop schedules and manage low-complexity projects with minimal supervision.
• Prepare budgets and define resource needs for projects or sub-projects.
• Assist with Product Realization Stage Gate requirements and test plans.
• Ensure designs meet specifications and promote error-proof assembly.
• Create project test plans and execute test programs; review data against plan.
• Interface with purchasing and vendors for components and assemblies.
• Provide engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing.
• Consult with customers on product requirements during design/manufacturing issues.
• Supervise engineers, designers, and technicians; manage CAD databases and libraries.
• Participate in design reviews and approve applicable drawings.
