Job summary

G&W Electric seeks a Director of Global New Product Development to lead the global NPD engineering organization, owning the end-to-end development process from concept through launch and post-launch monitoring. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this role sets the technical strategy and partners with Project Management, Marketing, GPLMs, and Supply Chain to drive the product roadmap.

You will mentor engineers, own deliverables, and advance simulation capabilities to shorten development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
• 10+ years engineering experience in a product development environment, including 7+ years in a managerial role.
• Expertise in electrical/electromechanical design, power electronics, and systems integration.
• Proven track record leading global NPD teams through complex, highly technical development projects while growing team skills and capability.
• Strong program execution skills — planning, resource alignment, stakeholder engagement, and persistence to results.
• Ability to interpret technical standards and communicate issues clearly to reports and stakeholders.
• Experience with DFSS and Lean tools (DOE, Capability & Control, FMEA, MSE, DFM).
• Experience with ECNs, BOMs, and PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the NPD department and linkage to business strategy.
• Own the global NPD strategic plan and budget with key stakeholders.
• Benchmark industry best practices and drive process improvements.
• Build rapid-prototyping capability for radical innovation.
• Partner with Marketing/GPLMs to build and maintain product roadmaps.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and ensure deliverables meet specs.
• Lead the global NPD network and allocate resources to roadmaps.
• Attract, recruit and develop engineering talent and conduct performance reviews.
