Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Sr. NPD Project Engineer in Bolingbrook, IL to support product realization through cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead portions of the design process, develop schedules, manage budgets, and ensure timely project completion while meeting specifications and promoting error-proof assembly. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in engineering design/development, with hands-on 3D parametric modeling and FEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in engineering design/development with exposure to technical and innovative projects.
• Experience with 3D parametric modelling and finite element analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of the design process and complete assigned tasks.
• Develop schedules and manage low-complexity projects with minimal supervision.
• Prepare budgets and define resource needs for projects.
• Assist with Product Realization Stage Gate requirements.
• Ensure projects meet specifications and promote error-proof assembly.
• Create project test plans and oversee test programs.
• Prototype components or assemblies as required.
• Review test data and ensure compliance with test plans.
• Perform engineering analysis in design of new products and subcomponents.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Document processes, material needs, test results and activities.
• Interface with purchasing/vendors for components and assemblies.
• Provide engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing.
• Consult with customer representatives on requirements.
• Guide engineers, designers and technicians.
• Maintain CAD databases and libraries.
• Review engineering drawings prior to release to manufacture.
• Ensure parts/processes meet cost and reliability goals.
