Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking a full-time Appointment Scheduling Specialist to manage provider and ancillary scheduling, ensuring HIPAA-compliant, accurate patient information and timely service.

You will support multi-channel communications with patients, physicians, and staff, coordinating referrals and scheduling guidelines across the system to improve access and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Healthcare scheduling or neurology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments system-wide for providers including specialty and ancillary services.
• Collects and maintains basic patient information relating to registration and insurance.
• Facilitates multi-channel communications among patients, physicians, clinical staff, outreach sites, and internal departments.
• Coordinates and completes accurate basic registration, demographic and insurance information for timely payment.
• Leads improvements to procedures or scheduling-related workflows and mentors new hires.
