Job summary

Geisinger Cancer Center is seeking an Appointment Scheduling Clerk to coordinate patient appointments across specialty and ancillary services, aligning with physician guidelines and patient preferences.

You will collect basic registration and insurance data in HIPAA-compliant systems, support multi-channel communications, and respond to inquiries about appointment status. Hours are days, 40 hours per week, on-site at the Knapper Clinic, with benefits available from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Business Administration/Management preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments system wide for providers, including specialty and ancillary services.
• Provides prep instructions for procedures using physician and department guidelines.
• Collects accurate basic registration, demographic and insurance information for timely payment.
• Handles referrals requests and obtains referrals for physician offices as required.
• Answers patient and physician questions regarding appointment status and scheduling windows.
