Job summary

JW Affinity IT in Titusville, FL seeks a Senior Network Technician to support and maintain our clients' network infrastructure. You will handle MAC moves, configuration of Cisco switches, and wireless components, while acting as the first ITSM/ServiceNow contact for incidents and requests.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong Cisco networking skills, and ability to work on-site with occasional after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Five+ years as Network Technician with at least CCNA or CCNP
• MAC/MOC changes and port activations in network closet
• Move/add/change activities including wiring and switch tweaks
• First responder to ITSM/ServiceNow tickets and related duties
• Set up, test, and repair network assets; verify compliance with security rules
• Advanced Cisco switch configuration (layer 2/3) and wireless support (WAPs/WLCs)

We are seeking a Senior Network Technician to join our team! You will help support and maintain company network infrastructure.

• Five years or more of experience as a Network Technician with atleast a CCNA or CCNP. Performs identified Move/Add/Change (MAC)activity to include all required network modifications both physicaland logical. May include moving/adding connection in network closetand terminating port connections at the end location(desk/office/conference room, etc.). May include necessary changeswithin the switch to accommodate port activation.
  
• Perform as first responder to ITSM and Service Now problemtickets. Can include a variety of duties to include customercontact, problem identification, and research, taking correctiveaction, acquiring additional support, documentation, and problem closeout.
  
• Support other network personnel as required with theinstallation/modification of network infrastructure and components.Support during off-hours and weekends may be required formaintenance windows and break/fix.
  
• Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communicationsnetwork. Monitors all network activity. Activates/deactivatesnetwork lines according to established schedules. May perform first-and/or second-level problem determination first level is help desk.Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.
  
• Sets up and tests a variety of systems and hardware componentsprior to field deployment. Analyzes failed equipment according toestablished methods or procedures and determine whether equipment isrepairable in-house or must be returned to the vendor for repair.Performs standard repairs and tests of components or equipment thatcan be repaired in-house. Tests incoming repaired items from vendorto ensure that repairs were properly done. Ensure compliance withstandard IT security rules and regulations
  

Requirements

Primary Skills

• Physically install network assets (i.e. switches, routers,firewalls, network tools & testing devices) in network closetsand data center network cabinets including:
  
• Logically configure network switches and tools/testing devices.
  
• Complete patching of circuits into switches.
  
• Perform network closet clean-up, switch port optimization, andsurvey work as needed.
  
• Monitor and take appropriate action from network alerts generatedfrom management tools.
  
• Perform advance Cisco switch configuration from command line layer2 and layer 3 configurations involving expert knowledge of the CiscoIOS IN AN ENTERPRISE environment. This includes knowledge of HSRP,RPVST, EIGRP, BPDUs, Vlans, Trunks, and VTP. Working experience ofat least 3 years of hands on.
  
• Advanced trouble shooting of complex switching problems forSpanning tree, vlans, ether channel and layer 3 routing protocolsOSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
  
• Work with facilities for new build outs of office spaces and newsite for Network cabling Fiber , cooper, power, cabinets, racks anddata closets. Work on budgeting , pricing out quotes and comparingquotes from cabling / electrical venders. This will includeinteracting with the customer and venders on a daily basis.
  
• Over 3 years Working experience of Cisco Wireless support of WAPsand WLCs in lightweight mode running multiple SSIDs and WLANS.
  
• Advanced knowledge of Single mode, Multimode fiber , cooper cat 6and other layer 1 cabling trouble shooting including use of TDR andFluke testers.
  

Additional Skills & Experience

• Administer ITSM / Service Now network ticket queue. Respond,update, and close Remedy incident tickets (break/fix and service requests).
  
• Support network break/fix actions to restore service to customers.Meet network SLA and performance measurements.
  
• Provide customer interface communication skills. Take initial Tier1 calls from customers and/or help desk.
  
• Administer network asset tool to help assist in data integrity.
  
• Administer network drawings and documentation tools.
  
• Support after-hour network change control maintenance windows as needed.
  
• Assist with other network personnel to maintain well organizednetwork equipment storage areas.
  
• Assist with network equipment RMA activities as needed.
  
• Update and maintain AutoCAD and Visio drawings.
