Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network & Security Engineer to design, operate, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise network-security infrastructure. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, and security segmentation while reducing risk across SOC, cloud, and applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network engineering, network security, firewall administration, or security operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments (PAN-OS).
• Own centralized firewall management via Palo Alto Panorama (device groups, templates, upgrades, backups, logs).
• Design and govern security policies using zero-trust, least-privilege, and risk-based principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot security zones, NAT, VPNs, decryption, URL Filtering, and App-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives with VLANs, routes, and security policies.
• Architect and troubleshoot PAN-OS HA deployments (Active/Passive/Active).
• Resolve complex HA failures and coordinate failover testing and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using logs, captures, and monitoring tools.
• Integrate NGFWs with Strata Logging Service and Cortex XSIAM for telemetry.
