Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, troubleshooting, and improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. The role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA deployments, Cisco switching, Cortex XSIAM, and Strata Logging Service.

The Senior Engineer will serve as escalations lead for complex incidents, set standards, and partner with SOC, infrastructure, and leadership teams to reduce risk while ensuring highly available services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years in network engineering/security roles.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls in a production environment.
• Experience with Panorama, HA, and policy management.
• Clear commitment to zero-trust and least-privilege principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage NGFW environments (Palo Alto) across the enterprise.
• Administer centralized firewall management via Panorama.
• Governing security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege.
• Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, and NAT configurations; monitor performance.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Coordinate with SOC and cloud teams on incidents and remediation.
