Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to design, operate, and continuously improve enterprise network-security infrastructure in a fully remote role within the United States. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, and Cortex XSIAM, collaborating with SOC and infrastructure teams to reduce risk and ensure high availability.

The role requires deep expertise in firewall design, HA, segmentation, and cloud-network security, with a focus on zero-trust principles and secure policy

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; three additional years if Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments with PAN-OS.
• Own centralized firewall management through Panorama, including device groups, templates, upgrades, and backups.
• Design security policies using zero-trust, least-privilege, and risk-based principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot security zones, NAT, VPN, decryption, URL Filtering, and App-ID policies.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation using VLANs, subinterfaces, and virtual routers.
• Develop secure controls for traffic between users, servers, and cloud resources.
• Architect HA deployments (Active/Passive/Active) and perform failover testing.
