Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design and operations of enterprise network-security infrastructure. You will manage Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, and Cortex XSIAM, coordinating with SOC and other teams to reduce risk and maintain high-availability services.

Senior role requiring 10+ years in network security with advanced Palo Alto expertise. This remote US-based position offers challenging incidents, architecture leadership, and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years in network engineering and security.
• 10+ years in enterprise network engineering or security operations.
• 6+ years hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with Palo Alto Panorama and high-availability configurations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of NGFW environments (PAN-OS).
• Own centralized firewall management via Panorama and policy inheritance.
• Design and govern security policies using zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, App-ID policies, and security zones.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and test HA deployments (Active/Passive/Active/Active).
• Mentor junior engineers and drive security reviews.
