Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design, operation, and troubleshooting of enterprise network-security infrastructure. The role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, Cortex XSIAM, and Strata Logging Service.

The Senior Engineer acts as a technical escalation point and partners with SOC, cloud, application, and leadership teams to reduce risk and maintain highly available services. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in network engineering, network security, firewall administration, or security infrastructure operations.
• 6+ years hands-on Palo Alto Networks firewall experience in a production environment.
• Advanced experience with Palo Alto Panorama and High Availability configurations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management through Panorama and policy templates.
• Design security policies using zero-trust, least-privilege principles.
• Configure and troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, App-ID, URL Filtering, and Threat Prevention.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Develop secure controls for traffic across users, servers, clouds, and IoT.
