Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering secure, mission-critical network services for government environments. The role combines design, delivery, assurance and continuous improvement across enterprise data centres, campus and WAN networks, with direct customer engagement.

You will lead complex projects, produce high-level designs, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring security, resilience, and compliance across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience in network engineering.
• Ability to operate confidently at senior engineer/technical lead level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience producing high-quality technical documentation and network designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level network engineering expertise and technical leadership across the Programme.
• Develop and deliver secure, resilient and scalable network solutions across data centre, campus and wide-area environments.
• Produce and assure technical designs, including HLDs and LLDs.
• Lead network engineering activities across the full lifecycle from requirements to operation.
• Work with architects, engineers, and delivery partners to ensure integration of network services.
• Provide technical assurance and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Lead investigations and resolution of complex network incidents and problems.
• Support major technical refresh programmes involving large numbers of devices.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement, automation and operational efficiency.
