Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a senior network/SRE engineer to own and optimize ultra-low-latency data-center infrastructure supporting institutional trading and market data. You will design routing, implement secure connectivity, and drive observability and automation for 24/7 trading systems.

You will lead incident responses, coordinate cross-functional resolutions, and mentor engineers to reduce risk and increase developer velocity.

Qualifications

8+ years in network, infrastructure, or SRE with production ownership in latency-sensitive settings.
Hands-on multicast, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and high-availability data-center design.
Proven incident response leadership and cross-functional coordination during market events.
Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and telemetry (SNMP or gRPC).
Strong Linux networking fundamentals in latency-critical environments; crypto experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own, operate, and optimize resilient, ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infra.
Design routing and market-data architectures with BGP/OSPF/VRFs and high-availability platforms.
Deploy and secure connectivity across Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls and VPNs.
Improve observability and automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
Lead safe production changes, incident response, and on-call rotations.
Mentor engineers and drive reliability across teams.
