Job summary

Coinbase, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, seeks an experienced Network/SRE engineer to own ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure supporting trading and market data. You will design routing, implement secure connectivity, and champion observability across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role demands 8+ years in latency-sensitive environments, strong BGP/OSPF/VRF skills, and hands-on firewall/VPN experience.

Qualifications

8+ years in network, infrastructure or SRE with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
Deep hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and data-center switching.
Proven ability to lead live incident response and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and network automation tooling.

Responsibilities

Own, operate, and optimize resilient, ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infra.
Design routing, traffic segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures.
Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across security platforms.
Drive observability with telemetry, latency analysis, and automation using Python/Ansible.
Lead safe production changes, incident response, and on-call rotation.
Mentor engineers and partner with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams.
