Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and automate our global network infrastructure.

You will tackle complex routing, data center fabrics, and automation to ensure scalability, reliability, and security across Akamai's platform. You will lead efforts from architecture through implementation, develop core network configuration templates using Jinja2, work with multi-vendor equipment (Juniper, Cisco, Arista), and partner with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Extensive experience in IP network design and scalable routing architectures such as BGP.
• Knowledge of Data Center architectures (CLOS fabrics) and overlay networks like VXLAN/EVPN.
• Experience managing multi-vendor environments and routing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Akamai's global network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain core network configuration templates using Jinja2.
• Implement new hardware platforms and features within the automation framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models and requirements.
• Serve as SME for complex network issues and perform deep-dive troubleshooting.
