Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, implementation, and automation of Akamai's global network infrastructure.

You will tackle complex routing, data center fabrics such as CLOS, and overlay technologies (VxLAN/EVPN), driving scalable, reliable, and secure networks. Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience in network engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive experience in IP network design and scalable BGP routing architecture.
• Knowledge of data center architectures including CLOS fabrics and overlay tech such as VxLAN/EVPN.
• Experience managing multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista) and routing platforms like BIRD, FRR, Cumulus.
• Proficiency in developing network configuration templates using Python, Ansible, and Jinja2.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Akamai's global network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain core network configuration templates using Jinja2.
• Implement new hardware platforms and network features within the automation framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models and requirements.
