Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, implementation, and automation of our global network infrastructure. You will shape routing, data center fabrics, and edge features, ensuring scalable, reliable connectivity across our platform.

You will design and deploy network templates, evaluate new hardware, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models and requirements. Strong focus on automation with Python, Ansible, and Jinja2 is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network engineering experience with related degree.
• Extensive IP network design and scalable BGP routing expertise.
• Strong Data Center architecture knowledge (CLOS Fabric, VXLAN/EVPN).
• Experience with multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista) and routing daemons.
• Proficient in network automation with Python, Ansible, and Jinja2.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain global network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain core network configuration templates using Jinja2.
• Implement new hardware platforms and features within automation framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data models and requirements.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting of complex network issues.
