Job summary

Leidos at Scott AFB, IL is seeking a Network Engineer III to support the DGOC within the GSMO-II program. This role focuses on maintaining continuous network operations for DoD networks and coordinating with government and internal teams.

Responsibilities include real-time circuit design, incident documentation, and ensuring maximum network availability across transport and IP networks. A DoD Top Secret clearance and IAT Level 2 are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
• Deep understanding of Transport and IP network topologies.
• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of circuits across optical and IP networks.
• Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore connectivity during outages and maintenance.
• Collaborate with customers, external agencies, and engineering teams to maximize network availability.
• Monitor network alarms using platform-specific tools.
• Manage changes including hardware replacements and configurations.
• Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions in incident tracking systems.
• Assess network incidents and recommend resolutions across routers, switches, and transport technologies.
