Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician to join a team that travels to industrial and commercial sites to test and troubleshoot electrical power systems. The role involves HV testing (480 V to 600 kV), instrument transformers, power transformer tests, and relay/cable testing across Nebraska and neighboring states.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of switchgear testing experience, an EPC or ABET-EE degree, and NETA certification or electrician license.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or EE degree from ABET college.
NETA Certification (III or IV) or Electrician license preferred.
5+ years of switchgear testing & troubleshooting experience.
Proficient PC skills including Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data-collect HV systems.
Travel across the state and bordering states for assignments.
Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing.
Test relays (electro-mechanical and solid-state) and perform cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
ATS troubleshooting and HV switchgear testing; respond to emergencies as needed.
