Job summary

Shermco Industries, an accredited NETA company, seeks an experienced NETA Field Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and data-collect on high and medium voltage systems. The role requires travel to customer sites across New Jersey and neighboring states, with a focus on reliability and safety.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of switchgear testing experience, relevant EPC/EE education, and NETA certification or electrician license.

Qualifications

• + Associate degree in Electrical Power & Controls or EE degree; military equivalent welcomed.
• + NETA Certification (II/III/IV) or Electrician license preferred.
• + 5+ years in switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• + Proficient PC skills; Excel; PowerDB a plus.
• + Ability to travel locally/regionally; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on electrical systems.
• Perform field testing on low/medium/high voltage equipment; relay and switchgear tests.
• Conduct transformer testing (power, insulation, Doble, etc.).
• Calibrate relays and measure power metering; accept on-call emergencies as needed.
• Maintain safety procedures and pass drug/background checks.
