Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking an experienced NETA Field Service Technician, Senior, to join our team in Louisiana. You will travel to industrial and commercial sites to inspect and test electrical power systems, perform data collection, and troubleshoot issues across 480 V to 600 kV equipment.

The role requires 5+ years of switchgear testing experience, NETA III/IV or electrician license preferred, and strong safety compliance.

Qualifications

• ABET/EE degree or EPC with military training acceptable
• NETA Certification III/IV or Electrician license preferred
• 5+ years experience in switchgear testing & troubleshooting
• Proficient PC skills including Excel; PowerDB experience a plus
• Must read and follow safety procedures; safety training preferred
• Valid driver's license and willingness for travel

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and collect data on HV/LV systems
• Travel locally/regionally and overnight travel
• Test instrument transformers
• Test power transformers: Doble, TTR, insulation resistance
• Test relays (electro-mechanical and solid-state)
• Test cables: Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot
• Troubleshoot ATS
• Test switchgear and breakers
• Relay calibration and power metering
• Rotate on-call and respond to emergencies
