Job summary

Shermco Industries in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Senior NETA Field Service Technician to perform high- and medium-voltage inspections, testing and data collection at customer sites regionally. The role requires on-site work, travel to industrial facilities, and on-call duties as part of a field team.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in switchgear testing, NETA certification or equivalent, strong PC skills, and the ability to read electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Associate or EE degree in electrical power and controls or equivalent training.
• NETA certification (III or IV) or electrician license preferred.
• 5+ years in switchgear testing and troubleshooting.
• Good PC skills including Excel; PowerDB experience preferred.
• Ability to travel regionally and work safely around electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and data-collect on low to high voltage systems.
• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) across LA and bordering states.
• Perform transformer and relay testing; calibrations as needed.
• Support on-call emergencies and maintain safety procedures.
