Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. You will conduct power studies, test protective relays, and document results with clear engineering reports.

The role requires 7+ years of HV testing experience, NETA certifications, and willingness to travel up to 75% regionally. A company vehicle, signing bonus, and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• NETA III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz and SKF equipment.
• Ability to read one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Inspect insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions and mentor junior techs.
