Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Web API. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions, participate in reviews and testing, and support production systems across overlapping time zones.

The role is hybrid, open to qualified US applicants (United States). A Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and 5+ years of backend experience are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in backend development with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Web API.
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs with SQL Server.
• Git usage and unit testing practices in software development.
• Exposure to microservices and cloud platforms; DevOps awareness.
• Banking/financial services experience preferred; strong problem-solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain backend services and APIs using C#, .NET and ASP.NET Web API.
• Write scalable, secure, high-performance code and contribute to complex modules.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing and troubleshooting to improve quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and priorities.
• Work independently while supporting overlapping time zones when required.
