Job summary

Deriva Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Manager, Compliance to lead NERC CIP and Operations & Planning compliance, interface with NERC, Regional Entities, ISO/RTOs, and regulators, and build a high-performing team across wind, solar and storage assets.

This role designs the compliance program, manages risk assessments, controls testing, audit materials, and training; drives root-cause analysis, reports to executives and the board, and advances tools to scale with fleet growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• Six years or more of relevant NERC compliance or regulatory experience, including experience with direct reports preferred.
• Experience with leading and developing compliance teams and managing audits and regulatory relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead NERC O&P compliance strategy across the operating fleet.
• Serve as primary interface with NERC, Regional Entities, and internal leadership during audits and inquiries.
• Build, mentor, and manage a team of compliance analysts and specialists; set goals and develop talent.
• Design and maintain the compliance risk management framework, including risk assessments and control testing.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Legal, and IT to embed compliance in processes and systems.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action planning for findings and ensure timely resolution.
• Own the training strategy to ensure year-round audit readiness.
