Job summary

Medtronic plc in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, is seeking a Lab Technician IV to support necropsy, gross pathology, tissue management and technical documentation in preclinical research. This onsite role requires a strong practical background and the ability to work closely with pathologists and study teams to ensure compliant, timely pathology activities.

The position typically requires four days per week in the lab, with a 5-day schedule possible, and may include weekend support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years in necropsy, pathology, or related lab work.
• Experience with necropsy, tissue collection and specimen processing.
• Ability to maintain technical records in regulated labs.

Responsibilities

• Perform necropsy, gross pathology, tissue collection and processing per protocols.
• Describe, photograph, trim and prepare tissues for histopathology and analysis.
• Document observations and data per quality systems and SOPs.
• Draft and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment; support workflow.
• Train and supervise less experienced personnel; collaborate with pathologists.
