Charles River seeks a Necropsy Technician I for its Safety Assessment site in Reno, NV. The role involves basic necropsy procedures, tissue collection, and data handling to support veterinary pathology workflows.

Education requires a high school diploma or GED with an AA/AS preferred in a biological field. At least 1 year pathology lab experience is expected, with strong teamwork and data recording skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; AA/AS preferred for biology-related fields.
• Minimum 1 year pathology laboratory experience; education combined with experience accepted.
• Must differentiate normal from abnormal tissue; ability to record data accurately.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; strong teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic necropsy laboratory procedures and document activities.
• Receive and ship samples; prepare materials and data for shipment and archiving.
• Assist with basic necropsy procedures (dissection, tissue collection/preservation, trimming).
• Learn correct anatomic terms and maintain professional interactions with staff.
• Perform euthanasia and post-mortem examination of animals for pathologist review.
