Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation, headquartered in Clearwater, FL, seeks an experienced NDT Level III – Senior Engineer I to lead NDT programs and audits across fabrication and inspection processes. You will certify operators, improve procedures, and collaborate with metallurgists for quality enhancement.

Qualifications

• Qualified and certifiable to NDT Level III in UT per SNT-TC-1A and NAS 410.
• Minimum 5 years of related NDT experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of NDT audits and corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to lead audits.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret NDT requirements within customer and industry specification documents.
• Write procedures to meet NDT requirements.
• Lead and administer the Personnel Qualification and Certification program for qualifying NDT operators.
• Interface with customers and third-party auditors regarding NDT questions.
• Support NDT operations by providing training and troubleshooting.
• Review and approve certifications from outside testing sources.
• Proactively improve and standardize NDT processes, equipment and instrumentation.
• Interact with product metallurgists to improve product quality.
• Stabilize NDT and other processes and implement SPC to maintain capability.
• Lead external and internal audits of NDT operations.
• Establish framework for data gathering to detect and solve quality issues.
