Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation seeks an NDT Quality Specialist IV to lead advanced nondestructive testing programs at our Tanner, AL facility. The role emphasizes elevating first-pass yield, establishing critical quality measures, and mentoring Level 1–3 staff across ultrasonic, eddy current, visual, liquid penetrant, and magnetic testing methods.

Ideal candidates have ASNT Level 3 in ultrasonic inspection, a bachelor's degree preferred, and 6+ years of NDT Level 3 experience.

Qualifications

• ASNT Level 3 Certification in ultrasonic inspection.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• 6+ years of experience as an NDT Level 3.

Responsibilities

• Direct proactive improvement of NDT and other quality processes to increase first time through.
• Establish CTQ, KPC, KCC, control plans, and FMEA for quality improvements.
• Mentor NDT Level 1–3 personnel in quality strategies, tools, and techniques.
• Identify quality issues to reduce claims, remakes, scrap, and deviations.
• Lead OEE improvements and data-driven problem solving across teams.
• Lead method improvements (MSA) and development of NPI processes.
• Develop training materials and oversee calibration/maintenance of NDT equipment.
• Oversee audits of Carpenter's quality program related to NDT.
