Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Director of R&D Software Navigation in Boston. You will lead a growing software team responsible for next-generation surgical navigation systems, defining architecture, driving execution, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across multiple platforms.

You will collaborate with systems, hardware, clinical, quality, and regulatory teams to deliver robust software that meets clinical needs and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years developing software from concept through release (SaMD experience preferred).
• 7+ years directly managing a software team of more than 10 developers; main functional manager & technical point of contact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle development of software subsystems for surgical navigation platforms, from concept to post-market support.
• Define and evolve software platform architecture, ensuring scalability, real-time performance, safety, and maintainability.
• Drive software roadmaps aligned with product strategy and system evolution.
