Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Orthopaedics navigation R&D team, based in Warsaw, IN and Boston, MA. You will generate system requirements, perform risk analyses, and collaborate across hardware, software, and marketing to ensure robust architectures and compliant documentation.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary coordination, design strategy, and continuous support through the product lifecycle, including regulatory considerations and sustaining engineering.

Qualifications

• BS in Systems Engineering or related field.
• Advanced/Graduate degree in engineering preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic medical device product development.
• Experience with surgical navigation or robotics.
• Experience with Design Controls and requirements management in medical devices.
• Experience with ALM systems such as Polarion.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements generation and risk analysis.
• Manage system-level requirements and facilitate cascade to sub-systems.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on architectures and interfaces.
• Develop design strategies and system concepts with stakeholders.
• Support regulatory submissions and compliance activities.
• Coach team members on systems engineering methodologies.
