Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Boston and Warsaw is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for the Navigation R&D team. You will drive system requirements generation, risk analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance orthopedic robotics platforms.

Responsibilities include interface analysis, design strategies, and regulatory support across hardware, software, and marketing teams, ensuring robust, safe medical devices and ongoing sustaining engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in a relevant engineering field.
• Advanced/Graduate degree preferred.
• Experience with orthopedic medical device product development is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements management across multi-disciplined and multi-site teams.
• Conduct system-level risk analysis in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with subsystem teams on requirements and risk cascade.
• Develop design strategies, system architectures, and functional diagrams.
• Evaluate multi-functional solutions to meet specific requirements.
• Develop use cases and user stories with partners to define needs and risks.
• Provide sustaining engineering support for existing products.
• Analyze mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces and ensure integration.
• Coordinate with hardware, software, marketing, and testing throughout product development.
