Job summary

SR2 is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for MV switchgear, fully remote within the US, with travel to sites including Texas. The role anchors standardised MV switchgear designs across campuses and owns technical specs, coordination studies, and vendor engagement.

Strong background in protection relays, arc-flash, and emerging switchgear tech is required. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in MV switchgear, hands-on with metal-clad gear, and experience driving FATs and submittal reviews.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in MV switchgear design or project delivery.
• Hands-on with metal-clad gear and vacuum breakers.
• Experience in short-circuit, arc-flash, coordination studies.
• Knowledge of IEEE C37, IEC 62271 and NEC MV installations.
• Experience reviewing vendor submittals and FATs.
• Clear, bid-ready specification writing.

Responsibilities

• Own MV switchgear product standards and configurations.
• Define technical specs for bus ratings, protection, metering.
• Manage vendor engineering and FATs.
• Perform short-circuit and coordination studies for MV system.
• Introduce new switchgear tech with cost/schedule cases.
