Job summary

RMS Energy Co seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead retrofit and retro-fill designs for LV/MV switchgear. You will develop mechanical systems, create 3D models, and produce manufacturing drawings for field-ready solutions.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, field personnel, and project teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards. Travel and remote work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in electrical distribution equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for LV/MV switchgear retrofit and retro-fill applications.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using CAD software.
• Design interfaces between new equipment and existing switchgear.
• Perform tolerance analyses and fit-up evaluations for installation.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on bus sizing and insulation integrity.
• Generate engineering documentation and bill of materials.
