Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Lead Project Engineer for Utility Solutions in Wendell, NC. The role combines technical leadership, customer engagement, and end-to-end solution ownership across MV systems.

You will own the technical outcomes, review schematics, and translate EPC requirements into practical, compliant solutions while mentoring the team and driving integration across Siemens and partner technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years designing and delivering electrical power distribution/substation/utility systems.
Knowledge of MV protection and control technologies (SCADA, IEC 61850, DNP3).
Experience evaluating customer specifications and delivering optimized system solutions.
Ability to review electrical schematics, identify risks, gaps, improvements.
Experience managing Bills of Materials in ERP environments (SAP preferred).
Mentoring engineers and elevating team performance.
Ability to manage contending priorities with technical precision.
Authorized to work in United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Own full technical outcome of MV substations and utility projects from feasibility through handover.
Review/approve one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, protection/control/automation philosophies.
Translate requirements into practical, standards-compliant solutions.
Act as trusted technical advisor to customers, utilities, EPC partners, and internal teams.
Lead engineering execution: design coordination, approvals, manufacturing support, FAT, installation, commissioning.
Drive system-level integration across Siemens and third‑party technologies.
Mentor engineers and drafters; drive standards and continuous improvement.
