Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC seeks a Sr Applications Engineer to support the EA business unit with customer-focused technical and commercial solutions. This hybrid role (2-3 days in office / 2-3 days remote) may relocate and can convert to remote for a senior MV switchgear engineer.

You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement and PMO to develop proposals for industrial, construction and data center markets, translating specs into optimized offerings and leading vendor selections.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in MV power distribution.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to analyze specifications and single-line diagrams to meet customer needs.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specs into optimized technical solutions and scopes.
• Develop layouts, single-line diagrams, and cost models for proposals.
• Lead technical evaluations and RFQs for third-party equipment.
• Support discussions and presentations with Sales and BD.
• Ensure smooth handover from bid to execution with PMO and cross-functional teams.
