Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Auxiliary Power Engineer to design MV and LV auxiliary power systems supporting large-scale transmission and grid integration projects. You will develop diagrams, load lists, equipment specs, and perform ETAP analyses while collaborating with project teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in auxiliary power and related electrical design.
• Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
• Hands-on ETAP experience; Aspen or SKM acceptable.
• Experience with cable sizing, protection coordination, battery sizing, load flow analysis.
• Candidate must already have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design MV and LV auxiliary power systems for large-scale transmission and grid integration projects.
• Develop single-line diagrams, load lists, equipment specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Perform ETAP studies including short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Design AC and DC auxiliary systems, including distribution panels, battery systems, chargers, UPS systems, and transfer switches.
• Conduct cable sizing, equipment sizing, and material estimation activities.
• Review supplier drawings, support factory acceptance testing, and provide commissioning support.
• Collaborate with electrical lead engineers, project teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement by developing and enhancing engineering templates, standards, and best practices.
