Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is seeking a Senior Engineer - Medium Voltage for its Moon Township, PA office in the Pittsburgh area. This hybrid role requires at least 3 days on-site weekly, with relocation assistance available for qualified United States candidates.

The engineer will drive design projects for MV circuit breakers, lead development from inception through production, and ensure certification and regulatory compliance across products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3 years of experience in related field with focus on new product development and design.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration or related work authorization for this position.

Responsibilities

• Support business growth through team-based new product development and production launch to market.
• Develop strong technical knowledge of circuit breaker products and technology, and governing standards.
• Compile requirements, lead conceptual and detailed design, development, prototyping, validation, and documentation.
• Build prototypes and execute test programs to evaluate designs.
• Work with manufacturing process owners to design according to capabilities and to establish process controls for cost-effective, defect-free manufacturing.
• Provide accurate design documentation with tolerances and Bills of Materials.
• Lead stage-gate new product development activities and participate in project reviews.
• Enhance performance margin using Six-Sigma quality tools and simulation; driveRobustness.
• Secure and maintain third-party certifications.
• Participate in process improvement to enhance effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Communicate project plans in reviews; deploy instructions; lead teams & share information.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and partner organizations including certifying bodies.
