Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc seeks a Senior Municipal Services Engineer to join the Municipal Services Department. You will coordinate with Village administrators and staff on public infrastructure, development, regulatory requirements, and capital projects.

Engage with multiple agencies to secure funding and ensure compliant development reviews. Responsibilities include mentoring others, preparing reports, and providing on-site inspection when needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of municipal government or development project experience.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff and residents.
• Experience coordinating with developers, designers and permit agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering advisory support to municipal staff.
• Respond to inquiries from village staff, officials, developers and property owners.
• Act as capital projects resource and project manager for municipal improvements.
• Develop and evaluate engineering solutions and capital improvement projects with staff.
• Review development plans for compliance with local requirements (stormwater, infrastructure).
• Prepare written development review reports and communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate grants, loan programs and inter-governmental agreements.
• Provide on-site construction inspection services as needed.
• Mentor less-experienced Municipal Services Engineers.
