Job summary

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks a Senior Municipal Engineer to deliver civil and environmental projects for local communities. You will collaborate with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and staff across departments on multiple project facets.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree and 10+ years of design experience, with Iowa PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Experience in roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
