Job summary

Kleinfelder, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to lead civil, municipal, and environmental projects with a collaborative team.

The position emphasizes detailed design, client coordination, and adherence to budgets and schedules, with opportunities for professional licensure and career growth in a people-first culture. Iowa PE license preferred or ability to obtain within one year, and experience with roadway and utility design is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Experience in roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
