Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Sr. Municipal Engineer to lead civil and environmental projects for local communities in Iowa.

You will collaborate with CAD Technicians, construction staff, land survey teams, and office personnel to deliver integrated public works solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, 10+ years of design experience, and an Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience is preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design is desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
