Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a full-time Senior Municipal Engineer to lead civil, municipal and environmental projects for local communities in Iowa. You will work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff to deliver plans, specifications, schedules, and reports for public works.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and 10 years of design experience; Iowa PE license or eligibility within one year preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Experience in roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
