Job summary

Kleinfelder Australia Inc in West Des Moines, IA invites a Senior Municipal Engineer to lead civil and environmental projects for local communities. You will work with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, and office staff to deliver plans on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil or Environmental Engineering, 10+ years of civil design experience, and an Iowa PE license or the ability to obtain it within one year; excellent written and verbal communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
