Job summary

City of Idaho Falls is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to lead the city's engineering division. The role oversees planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water, sewer, and street infrastructure, guiding city projects and subdivisions.

You will present project analyses to elected officials and the public, develop a five-year CIP, and ensure compliance with state and federal standards while managing a team of engineers and staff within the Public Works Department.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering and Idaho PE license (or eligible).
• Eight years of licensed municipal engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of traffic control standards and state/federal codes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the engineering division and develop capital plans.
• Review plans and subdivision documents for compliance with City standards.
• Provide technical advice to City staff, boards, and developers.
• Prepare budget proposals and coordinate with City departments and agencies.
• Present project goals and impacts at public meetings.
