Job summary

City of Boise is seeking an Engineer I/II to shape infrastructure projects across water, sewer, drainage, geothermal, and building facilities. You will support planning, design, development review, inspections, and project leadership while collaborating with engineering, field, and operations teams to solve challenges and deliver reliable public infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, electrical, structural, sanitary or mechanical engineering or a closely related field and four years of experience in engineering.
• Licensed by the State of Idaho as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to acquire Idaho license within six months of hire date or Engineer-In-Training Certification (FE exam).
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering studies and design reviews for large public works projects.
• Manage projects from planning through construction and inspections.
• Coordinate with engineering, field, and operations teams to solve complex challenges.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with approved plans, contracts, and applicable codes.
