Job summary

The City of Idaho Falls is seeking Civil Engineer I or II to join the Public Works team. This role involves planning, design, construction and maintenance of city infrastructure, reviewing subdivision and site plans, and coordinating with developers and contractors.

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and four years of municipal engineering experience; an Engineer in Training license or equivalent is required, with Idaho licensure within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Four years of professional municipal engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or equivalent licensure is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review subdivision and site plans for compliance with city standards.
• Provide technical guidance on projects and inspect public works improvements.
• Prepare and review specifications for sanitary sewer, water, drainage, and street projects.
• Coordinate with developers, contractors, and city staff during project reviews and inspections.
• Attend meetings and present project goals and impacts to boards or commissions.
