Job summary

The City of Idaho Falls Power/Fiber is seeking a Systems Electrical Engineer to design, maintain, and operate city-wide electric systems, including CIP planning, substations, and transmission.

You will lead project design, coordinate with other departments, and supervise duties of more experienced engineers. A Bachelor's in electrical engineering and 4+ years of utility experience are required; Idaho PE reciprocity is expected within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum four years of relevant utility electrical systems experience.
• Idaho Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain by reciprocity within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate CIP planning and long-range electric system projects.
• Act as project manager for internal and contracted construction projects.
• Develop and maintain design standards, drawings, and specifications for power assets.
• Review safety compliance and ensure NEC/NESC/FERC/NERC/EPA guidelines are followed.
